Chaillac

These properties are situated in the hamlet of Les Cosses , Chaillac. Chaillac is a pretty village with all the amenities you will need: a school, several shops including a supermarket, boulangerie, butchers, 3 bars, 2 restaurants. There is a large tree lined square where the locals play bowls on the hot summer nights surrounded by the bars where there is often large music events and outdoors pig roasts. There is also a communal lake at Chaillac where you can swim and fish - it also has its own restaurant.

The whole of the Val d'Anglin, which follows the Anglin river, has many attractive walks and cycle rides which are marked up, leading through to La Chatre l'Anglin and the ruins of the Brosse Castle, which used to belong to the counts of Brosse in the middle ages.

The beautiful medieval town of St Benoit du Sault is just 10 minutes away, Poitiers 2 hrs, Chateauroux 40 mins, Argenton sur Creuse 25 mins and Limoges 1 hour.



The first house was built in the 1960s. It is fully double glazed and centrally heated and benefits from excellent insulation both the walls and ceiling - providing low fuel bills in the winter and a cool comfortable environment in the winter. The oil powered central heating system provides hot water in the winter and there is an additional water heater used in the summer months.

On the ground floor there is a very large tiled lounge with an open plan kitchen dining area. The windows of the lounge are enormous and slightly tinted keeping the lounge cool in the summer and they slide open fully allowing a more open feel on those hot summer evenings when dining on the terrace area.

Adjoining the lounge is a large laundry room with fitted cupboards and a tiled floor. This room could easily be converted into another bedroom or even a garage. There is a WC on the ground floor as well.

On the second floor there are 4 good sized bedrooms and a family bathroom. 2 of the bedrooms have double sink units. One has in addition a bath. All are lit well from large velux windows. 2nd House

The second house in this sale was built in the 1800s but was totally renovated in the 1980s and now benefits from oil central heating and is fully double glazed. The pool area is a real suntrap and the paved area around the pool is great for sunbathing.
